Privacy Policy

Alerts for Sheets ("the add-on") is a Google Sheets add-on that emails you when cells in a spreadsheet meet conditions you set. This policy explains what data it accesses and what it does with it.
Data the add-on accesses
- The spreadsheet you use it in (
spreadsheets.currentonly): it reads the cells your rules watch, and the cells they compare against, to check your conditions. It can access only spreadsheets where you use the add-on. - Your email address (
userinfo.email): used only as the address alerts are sent to. - Sending email (
script.send_mail): alerts are sent from your own Google account to you and to any extra addresses you enter. The add-on sends nothing else. - Triggers (
script.scriptapp): the add-on installs an edit trigger and a form-submit trigger on the spreadsheet so it can check your rules when the sheet changes. Turning alerts off removes them. - Sidebar (
script.container.ui): displays the add-on's settings panel inside Google Sheets. - License check (
script.external_request): if you enter a Pro license key, the add-on sends that key to Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, to confirm it is valid (about once a week). Only the key is sent, never spreadsheet data. The key is stored in your own Google account's add-on settings.
Your rules, extra recipients and the last-checked state of watched cells are stored inside the same spreadsheet as document properties.
What we do not do
- No spreadsheet data or email content is sent to any server operated by us. Everything runs in Google Apps Script under your account.
- We do not collect, store, sell or share spreadsheet content. If you buy Pro, Lemon Squeezy processes your payment and email under its own privacy policy.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Google API Services
The add-on's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The add-on runs on Google Apps Script and is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Removing data
Use Turn off alerts for this sheet to remove the triggers, and delete your rules and press Save to remove stored settings. Uninstalling the add-on from Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons removes its access.
